March 20, 2010 - Justin Johnson Overcomes Trouble - Finishes 8th

Radford, VA --

Justin Johnson made his first trip to Motor Mile Speedway in two years in search of a state title, but found a speed bump in the way.

A decent qualifying run of 9th (of 34) put Johnson solidly in the field for the night's 150 lap main event at the Radford, VA .4 mile speedway. Early in the race it was apparent that the Puryear Tank Lines Toyota was a contender. Within 20 laps, Johnson was even with the fifth place machine.

The race stayed that way until lap 50 when a spin brought out the first caution of the evening. On the restart, the leaders bobbled, the field stacked up and Johnson was hit from behind, spinning him and sending the FDJ driver to the rear of the field.

Johnson used the next 100 laps as a solid test run, moving all the way up to 8th, and contending for a top five finish. Time ran out, and Johnson would have to settle for a 8th place finish.

Justin will take a week off, before returning to South Boston Speedway, where he leads in points.
